Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara

07 Jan Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara

Hello and a belated Happy New Year.

I often suffer with watery eyes.
Watery eyes for no real reason, the wind; the cold; the sun; a sneeze, anything can make them water.

Therefore a waterproof mascara is essential.

I like to try new products, because I enjoy makeup.

I am a high street /drug store make up shopper and very happy to be one. I went to Superdrug in my town centre after several wandering trips up and down the makeup isle I decided to go for the Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara priced at £7.99 (this was a special offer, usually £9.99)

Something I always, always, do when buying a new mascara is smell it. Strange I know! But I think, if I am going to put something on my skin, especially near my eyes it needs to have an acceptable smell. The Revlon one has a fairly neutral smell.
For future reference, Rimmel Wake Me Up mascara smells like cucumber and I love it.

I first used the Revlon mascara as part of my normal morning routine. I like the brush and there is a good amount of product on the applicator and the handle is comfortable to hold.

My first impressions were mixed. As this is a lengthening mascara it has some fibres in it, which at first I did struggle with. I like to apply my mascara very close to my lash line, so I did get some in my eyes the first 2 applications as I hadn’t used one with fibres in before! With practice I have perfected my application so this does not happen.

Initially I was unsure of the look but now I believe it was just my morning rush that was making me doubt it! I am not always at my best first thing.

I do usually apply more than one coat of mascara, I don’t know if it is just the formula or because this is a waterproof one I have brought, but this mascara does dry quite quickly. So, if you are like me and apply more than one coat, I would advise doing so more or less straight away.

After getting used to the fibres and slightly altering my application by starting a little further up my lashes I am happy with this mascara. I actually received a compliment for a colleague that my lashes looked longer.

Overall, I think this is good long lasting mascara which does what it says on the tin, give length and some volume. It does not clump or give the spider lash effect and is easily removed using an eye makeup remover.

I would definitely but another Revlon Mascara, however, because I like to change my makeup I think I would go for the Revlon Ultra Volume or the Revlon Dramatic Definition.

What is currently your favourite mascara?

Thank you for reading, see you in the next one.
